We appreciate getting feedback on our web sites and products. We may have immediate suggestions to work-around any issue.
An empty route can be started in the Routes section of iNavX, then waypoints on a chart can be tap selected for inclusion into that route.
Tap the small "i" icon in the lower-right corner of any chart. Then tap the options button in the chart info dialog. In the list of options given, tap Remove Chart.
Zoom into the chart region deeper (two finger spread apart gesture) and the Navioncs+ charting areas display as thin red rectanges; if necessary, temporarily leave the Navionics+ chart, view any NOAA chart's 00000_1 World Chart, then return to Navionics+ to find it becomes responsive to zooming in gestures.
Downloading of charts is done using the iOS's regular connection to the Internet. Having iNavX configured for a TCP/IP connection receiving NMEA navigation data streamed over Wi-Fi may possibly interfere with chart downloads hosted on the X-Traverse service.
The chart files of Navionics 50XG (and the retired 34XG) are just fine but the 180 degree longitude line makes different software display the charts differently.
Tap the small letter "i" in the lower right corner of a chart, then tap the Options button.
While viewing any chart, tap the small letter "i" icon to bring up the information dialog, then tap the extended options icon.
In iNavX, in the WP+ tab under any chart, tap the Import / Export option and then choose to export data as GPX or KMZ for storage on X-Traverse.
The Different Types of Downloads
This solution applies to Web Maps in PathAway Pro which are generally on-demand maps that download only what you direct the software to download. Individual raster charts are handled differently.
- In PathAway Pro 6 (fully updated), tap the main Menu icon.
- Under the Maps sub-menu, select the WebMaps.
- In Account Settings, enter your Fugawi.com (X-Traverse) email + password.
- Scroll down to and tap on the menu row WebMaps Source.
- Select the source of WebMaps as Fugawi / X-Traverse.
- Select the correct map title from WebMaps Type.
(A map title preceded by an asterix such as * This Topo Map is already activated and you should choose that one, if avialable.)
- Tap Activate Map and Yes to confirm.
- Return to the map screen of PathAway and center over any latitude / longitude position of the nation coveraged by your Fugawi topo map product. Any area panned to or scale zoomed into within a range of map coverage downloads data from the Fugawi / X-Traverse on-demand map server. You may change back the WebMaps source to another service later on, if you wish.
Since October 2016, the Fugawi.com web service (formerly X-Traverse.com as shown in older versions of iNavX) is incompatible with legacy versions of iNavX 3.x and 4.x. Charts will no longer download and waypoints / routes data will no longer transfer. Error 200 will be issued by the app when attempting to work with Fugawi.com.
Fugawi.com with iNavX 5.x are fully compatible and interoperable.
Update the iNavX software. Power off the iPhone or iPad, then power back up. Try the chart download again.
Different adjacent Navionics chart regions contain different levels of chart detail. Download multiple adjacent regions to avoid omissions in navigation aids, nautical objects, and depth sounding data density.
Change to a desktop computer's web browser to avoid the NSURLError Domain error.
After logging in at the iNavX 5 menu Charts | Account, examine the My Charts screen. The Fugawi Aboard title should be listed there. Tap on it, then select the Quilted Charts option. Zoom and pan into coastal USA chart regions and see the chart areas download at a given scale.
Old iNavX version 4 installations are incompatible with chart downloads from Fugawi.com and will always report error 200. A new iNavX version resolves the issue.
NOAA charts of a given number and name typically persist for years, getting revised from time to time. However, some NOAA charts are eventually retired / withdrawn and iNavX (or any other software) can no longer download those specific charts.
A limitation of current software packages in the Mac OS X ecosystem: there is no way to import Navionics charts from media card. But they can be downloaded... read on...
As of late 2016 and into 2017 and beyond, the iNavX app for iPad and iPhone features in-app purchases under the Store tab of the app.
Tap the chart Settings icon, set Pos Icon Loc to "None". This stops the automatic jumping to a low detail world map at a present GPS coordinate.
